NAPA Racing UK took to Instagram on Saturday morning to announce the swap for the British Touring Car Championship weekend at Thruxton.

Osborne has never previously missed a tin-top meeting since his series debut, and has classified in all-but-two races in 2026.

In a short post on the team’s Instagram, they revealed that the one-time BTCC race winner will be unable to compete, but they hope to have him back soon.

“NAPA Racing UK can confirm that #77 Sam Osborne will not participate in Rounds 13, 14 & 15 of the BTCC season this weekend at Thruxton on medical grounds.

“Sam has felt unwell in the lead up to the event, and with the team’s full support he has made the difficult decision to withdraw from this meeting.”

Hoping to see Osborne back before the Knockhill rounds, the statement concluded: “The whole team wants to wish Sam a speedy recovery!”

The team have released no further details as to what has caused their man to withdraw.

In a separate post, they announced that 2017 Jack Sears Trophy Winner Senna Proctor will replace Osborne for the weekend.

Proctor, who last raced in the BTCC for Team VERTU in 2025, has been Osborne’s coach and NAPA Racing UK’s reserve driver since the beginning of the season.

Thruxton was also where he stepped into the VERTU Hyundai mid-season, so the Yorkshireman has pedigree in stepping into a top car in Hampshire relatively cold.
