Genesis has unveiled its Magma GT3 Concept, which is a exploration of the GT3 category for the Korean manufacturer.
The car is based on the Magma GT Cobcept, the road going version of the car which Genesis is considering putting into production, alongside the GT3 car.
GT3 technical regulations require the racing version to be based on a road-going model, but both concepts represent Magma’s exploration and future interest in GT racing.
Cyril Abiteboul, Genesis Magma Racing team principal, positioned the GT3 as a “dream” or an “aspiration” as a future car and programme for global GT racing.
Genesis Magma Racing is making their debut in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend with the Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar.
They qualified sixth for the race in 6th and 9th in Thursday’s Hyperpole, getting both cars through to the second Hyperpole session, something only 2 other manufacturers achieved.
