Daniel Rowbottom hopes returning to the site of his last British Touring Car Championship victory will reap rewards, as Plato Racing continue learning in their maiden campaign.
The then-NAPA Racing driver took victory at Snetterton in 2025’s Race 2, and collected a P3 in 2023’s Race 3.
The Worcesterite is excited to return to the site of his last BTCC victory, hoping his Plato Racing car will have enough to challenge on Sunday,
“Snetterton was a happy hunting ground for me last year so it would be great to be up there and challenging once again,” he told BTCC media.
Rowbottom’s P16 in the standings means that he has a full allocation of boost for the running in Norfolk.
This is doubly beneficial at a track like Snetterton, with the three-mile circuit having two long straights.
“It’s a long lap and we’ve got a full allocation of TOCA Turbo Boost so we have to maximise that,” Rowbottom added.
Though only media talk, it is also notable that Snetterton typically benefits the saloon-style cars more, meaning the Plato Mercedes could be in good stead for the weekend.

Rowbottom: Plato Racing ‘learning a huge amount’ in debut season
Plato Racing’s season started sensationally with Rowbottom winning the inaugural Race to Pole. But, he could only convert to a pair of P11s and a retirement at Donington Park.
Teammate Adam Morgan has also enjoyed a solid, yet mixed, set of results. The #33 saw its highlight of the season in recovering from P15 to P6 in Race 3 at Brands Hatch.
However, Plato Racing have clearly exceeded expectations so far.
As Rowbottom reiterates, they are still finding new experiences to learn from every race weekend.
The team spent time during the off-season testing at Snetterton, so may also hope to use previous experience at the track to their benefit.
“We’re all fierce competitors so it’s easy to forget that this will be just the third event for the team; every time we hit the track we’re learning a huge amount.
“Things are starting to click now and if we can hook things up in qualifying then I don’t see why we can’t be a force on race day.”
