Fabio Quartararo insists he can return to the front in MotoGP amid rumours linking him with a move to Honda for 2027.

It has been four seasons since Quartararo last won a MotoGP race, with the Frenchman’s most recent victory coming at the 2022 German Grand Prix.

Since then, both Quartararo and Yamaha have endured a difficult period in MotoGP, sparking speculation at the start of the 2026 season that the former world champion could leave the Japanese manufacturer.

Reports have since linked Quartararo with a move to Honda for the 2027 season, potentially bringing an end to his long association with Yamaha.

The Frenchman made his MotoGP debut with Yamaha in 2019 at just 19 years old, and the now 27-year-old has experienced both the highs and lows of the premier class during his career.

Yamaha’s struggles in recent seasons have left Quartararo fighting outside the front positions far more often than during his title-winning years.

Despite occasional flashes of pace, the Japanese manufacturer has been unable to consistently challenge Ducati at the front of the grid, increasing speculation that Quartararo could seek a fresh start elsewhere.

After several challenging seasons, Quartararo says he is determined to rediscover the “feeling of winning”, but it remains unknown whether his future lies with Yamaha or Honda.

“I’m getting older, and I am leaning into that side of my brain,” Quartararo told MotoGP.com.

“I am talking about how I am living right now, where the results are not great. You need to stay focused, because it is really easy to lose your way and motivation.

“In the end, it is something you need to do for yourself. It does not matter if you are winning or not.

“When you are winning, everything is easy, but when you are struggling, it is then that you are having tough, tough times.

“I have nothing to prove; if I am here, it is just because I want to be back for myself. I know my speed, I know what I can achieve, and what I want to achieve in the short future.

“When you taste the feeling of winning, you do not want to lose it.”
