Lewis Hamilton conveyed an uncharacteristic loss of cool during the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, having been caught making a swearing gesture at Franco Colapinto.
The Brit and the Argentinian finished the race sixth and seventh respectively at the Miami International Autodrome, both men being elevated one place due to the 20-second time penalty awarded to his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc.
Colapinto produced perhaps his best performance for Alpine to date, and was the Enstone-based squad’s only car at the finish, after Pierre Gasly was tipped over by Liam Lawson early on.
Hamilton and Colapinto jostled for position on the opening lap, the pair getting very close, and, as far as Hamilton was apparently concerned, a bit too close.
In unearthed footage, Hamilton, when overtaking Colapinto on the back straight towards Turn 17, the seven-time World Champion made his feelings very clear though one flick of his middle finger.
