A 1-of-1 trading card purchase has highlighted the impressive climb Andrea Kimi Antonelli has had in his first two Formula 1 seasons.
On Saturday night, a race-worn patch autograph trading card, featuring Antonelli, was sold for $201,910.
It marked the most expensive trading card for the Italian yet, and the seventh most expensive in F1’s history.
While a significant milestone for Antonelli, it’s indicative of a far wider growth the young Italian had had.
His impressive rise to the top of the field in just his second F1 season has drawn more eyes to him and naturally increased the value of his merchandise.
It is not just an example of his standing now, but where his value is expected to grow, as the sale of his card now ranks as the seventh most expensive in F1 history, showing he is viewed as one of the sport’s future greats.

A trial by fire in F1
It will not be the first time the pressure of being a generational talent has been placed on the 19-year-old’s shoulders.
After winning consistent championships in the lower categories, Mercedes opted to fully fund his move to Formula 2, entirely skipping Formula 3.
Though a bold decision, the Silver Arrows saw a glimpse of greatness in Antonelli, when he found himself on par with his teammate and fellow F2 competitor Oliver Bearman, Mercedes chose to put him in the F1 car for 2025.
While the plans were fast-tracked due to Lewis Hamilton’s surprise departure to Ferrari, Team Principal Toto Wolff held steadfast in his decision.
His rookie season was bumpy, with mistakes naturally appearing under the pressure of being a Mercedes driver at 18-years-old.
However, 2026 is a new ball game for the Italian, with the new regulations offering a clean slate. Not only has Antonelli come to fight alongside George Russell, but he has also made it clear that he intends to beat his more experienced teammate.
Taking his maiden victory in China, followed by a second win in Japan, he became the youngest driver to win a race and take the drivers’ championship lead.
Now he finds himself nine points clear of Russell and 23 ahead of Leclerc.
His rapid success and growth are evident in the value of his 1-of-1 cards. Which will no doubt continue as he progresses this season in search of a maiden world title.
