Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel will take part in the 2026 edition of the London Marathon to raise funds for a special cause.
Vettel has proven himself to be a champion both on and off the track. Towards the latter-half of his F1 career, the German driver emerged as a strong advocate for social issues.
Despite his retirement from the sport at the end of the 2022 season, Vettel has kept that trend up.
The former Red Bull and Ferrari driver is slated to take part in the London Marathon, scheduled for the 26th of April, alongside F1 journalist Tom Clarkson.
Vettel will be dedicating his exploits across the 26.2 mile-event towards raising funds for the the Brain & Spine Foundation and the Grand Prix Trust charities. The 38-year-old, however, will be the second ex-F1 driver to run this particular race.
In 2023, Max Chilton, who drove for back-markers Marussia between 2013 and 2014, ran in the London Marathon to raise funds for the RNLI.
Vettel will be accompanied by many stalwarts of the sporting world including but not limited to the likes of Sir Alastair Cook [former England Test Captain], Aaron Ramsey [former Juventus midfielder and FA Cup winner with Arsenal], and Sir Ben Ainslie [four-time Olympic Gold medallist].
