The organisers of this year’s Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, the first to be held in Madrid, have unveiled the trophies to be presented at the event.
The ‘Madring’ circuit, which is has so far yet been completed, is due to host the race on the weekend of September 11-13.
Excitement for the race has naturally also been ramped up by the ambassadorial role of Carlos Sainz, a Madrid native, for the event.
To illustrate the growing excitement, the organisers of the event pitched a competition to determine which entrant would be given the honour of designing the trophies for the event.
Madrid-based artist Sandra Val, Italian organisation Pininfarina Studio, and Sustain Awards gallery director Laura Atalaya were the final three chosen.

But it was Pininfarina Studio, with a trophy design called “Monumental” [a nod to the banked Turn 12 on the circuit], that won, having been selected by a jury that included Sainz.
The Williams driver said: “Having a company like Pininfarina design the trophy for the Spanish Grand Prix demonstrates the magnitude of this project.
“The ‘Monumental’ trophy will not merely be an object; it will be the symbol lifted by the winner of the 2026 race, speaking not only of the most iconic corner of MADRING but also of the way victory is understood in our city.
“That is why it needed to live upto both Madrid and Formula 1 — and I believe this trophy more than delivers.”
