Yuki Tsunoda’s first appearance in a Formula 1 since his axing from Red Bull took a dramatic turn when he was forced to abandon his car amid a dramatic fire.
The Japanese driver was appearing in a demonstration run in the 2011 title-winning RB7 in San Francisco, when the fire occurred.
After completing donuts, Tsunoda stopped, and the back of the car began to be engulfed in flames and smoke.
With spectactors urging the now-Red Bull reserve driver to escape, Tsunoda appeared calm as he stepped away from the burning car.
