Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris has topped the timesheets on the first day of the official pre-season testing programme in Bahrain.
The McLaren driver saw his 1:34.669 be the quickest lap of the day, a tenth ahead of Max Verstappen, whose RB21 looked impressive.
Charles Leclerc was third fastest, with Esteban Ocon popping his Haas up into fourth place, and Oscar Piastri fifth in the sister McLaren.
Lewis Hamilton was seventh, with Pierre Gasly eighth for Alpine. Nico Hulkenberg got Audi into the top 10, with Alex Albon 11th.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli was 12th, followed by rookie Arvid Lindblad, the sole runner for Racing Bulls.
Carlos Sainz was next, followed by the Cadillac of Sergio Perez, his team-mate Valtteri Bottas sandwiching 17th-placed Gabriel Bortoleto.
Lance Stroll and Franco Colapinto made up the 18 cars that ran on opening day.
