Mercedes reportedly ended Day Four of Formula 1‘s Barcelona pre-season test on top, with George Russell fastest ahead of team-mate Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

The Italian allegedly set the fastest time of the morning, and completed another mammoth run, with 90 laps of the Circuit de-Barcelona Catalunya.

Russell took over in the afternoon, and after an apparent 78 laps, reportedly bettered Antonelli’s time by around sixth tenths.

Charles Leclerc was third, completing 83, four less than team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who was sixth overall.

But perhaps the biggest story of the day was the eagerly-anticipated debut of the Aston Martin AMR26, which broke covers for the first time, with Lance Stroll at the wheel.

The Canadian was released onto the circuit late in the day, after a morning spent by the team constructing the Adrian Newey-designed machine.

An exploratory cameo was halted when the car came to a halt towards the end of the sixth lap, with Stroll climbing out.

As always, all the information from the test is information sourced from the circuit and is subject to confirmation.
