Christian has paid a surprise visit to the FIA

Christian Horner has visited FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem at FIA headquarters in Paris as rumours grow surrounding an Formula 1 comeback.

Horner has remained off the radar of media and wider F1 since his sudden firing by Red Bull following last season’s British Grand Prix.

Although lacking any formal confirmation, the Briton has been busy behind the scenes plotting his return to the sport, contacting team’s after the summer break.

Talks with Aston Martin showed promise, however these fizzled away, rumours circulated in mid January Alpine looking like his most likely destination for 2026.

These were verified by Alpine this week, with the news that Horner is in negotiations to buy a 26 per cent stake in the team from OtroCapital.

Preparations for his comeback seem to be continuing, as he has now paid a visit to FIA headquarters in Paris to visit the FIA President.

A social call for Christian Horner?

Social media posted by ben Sulayem showed the FIA President in conversation with Horner inside the FIA offices in Paris.

“Wonderful to welcome Christian Horner to the FIA Paris offices today,” Ben Sulayem wrote on his social media post, “Good to see you, my friend.”

The nature of the visit is speculated to be a social call rather than to discuss his potential comeback, as Horner is attending a historic car show in Paris.

Horner, now fully separated from Red Bull, cannot start any new role until at least April, meaning any comeback would not take place until after the 2026 is underway.
