Mercedes is apparently set for a huge new sponsorship deal with Microsoft, purported to be one of the biggest in Formula 1 right now.

The German marque enters 2026 with a continuing complement of sponsors from a plethora of major organisations, adding to it this week in the shape of digital finance firm Nu.

Mercedes will be the newest F1 squad to enter into partnership with the tech giants, having previously had deals with Alpine and Enstone-based predecessor Lotus and Renault.

Whilst not confirmed, Sky Sports News has reported that the deal is on, and if completed, would be around $60 million a year.

This would make it the third-largest sponsorship deal in F1 currently, behind its other partnership with Petronas, and Red Bulls with Oracle.

The Brackley-based squad’s financial windfalls are increasing all the time, with Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff recently selling a portion of his shares to cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.

2026 could be one of the team’s biggest in years, with an alleged use of a loophole in the engine regulations giving the team a supposed power advantage over much of its rivals that do not possess its power.

It was already given the early label of favourites, the team retaining its 2025 driver line-up of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
