Formula 1 star Alex Albon has announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend Muni ‘Lily’ He in an amusing social media post.
The Anglo-Thai driver has been in a relationship with fellow Thai national and professional golfer He since 2019, and is often seen accompanying him to Grands Prix.
Albon recently commented on the lack of free time F1 drivers get in the off-season, describing its shortness as “brutal”.
And therefore, it appears the Williams driver wasted little time in ensuring a seismic personal development was made during its downtime.
Posting a Polaroid-style photo of himself and He – shown to be wearing an engagement ring – on his Instagram account, Albon wrote: “I guess we’re stuck with each other now”.
The Williams team replied with its congratulations, writing: “Best news ever! Congratulations Alex and Lily”.
Several drivers, notably Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc – who also announced his engagement last year – also sent their best wishes.
It is another of many reasons for Albon to smile lately, having finished eighth in the Drivers’ Championship after a stellar year for the Grove-based squad.
Albon, in his fourth season with the team, led it to its best Constructors’ Championship finish and points haul in many years, leading the midfield glut, with the help of new team-mate Carlos Sainz.
The 29-year-old described 2025 as his “best season yet,” and said that he wants to go one better next year by taking his first podium as a Williams driver, following Sainz, who captured two top-three finishes at Baku and Qatar.
