Red Bull has become the first Formula 1 team to pull the cover off its 2026 livery, doing so at a glitzy launch event in Detroit.
The Milton Keynes-based squad‘s RB22 challenger was unveiled in the Michigan city, in conjunction with its new powertrain alliance with American giants Ford.
It is the first time that the team has developed its own in-house power unit, that it hopes will successfully contest the first year of F1’s new radical regulations cycle.
The team will no doubt be buoyed by the return of Max Verstappen, who narrowly missed out on a fifth straight championship in 2025.
Verstappen will be joined by Isack Hadjar, who switches from satellite squad Racing Bulls, after a glittering debut campaign last year.
The full features of the RB22, pencilled chiefly by Technical Director Pierre Wache, will be unveiled once it exits the garage at the first pre-season testing programme in Barcelona in less than two weeks’ time.
Verstappen, who had often openly expressed his wish for a tweak to the classic Red Bull colour scheme, joked at the event that he had finally been listened to.
The car features the same colours, but the predominant blue appears lighter and shinier, and, of course, has the Ford logo adorned on it.
