Oliver Bearman has addressed the speculation linking him with a potential move to Ferrari in 2027 after an impressive maiden Formula 1 campaign for Haas.
Following an impressive substitute drive for Ferrari in 2024, Bearman landed a Haas seat for 2025, driving alongside Esteban Ocon in his opening F1 season.
Showing flashes of speed but lacking consistency, his confidence built over his debut year to come 13th in the Drivers’ standings, three points ahead of Ocon.
Bearman’s drive in Mexico was particularly impressive, securing a career-best fourth, beating championship contender Oscar Piastri and both Mercedes cars.
His rookie season has led to speculation that a move to Ferrari could be on the horizon, given the contrasting performances of Lewis Hamilton in his debut year in red.
Bearman has revealed he believes he is ready for the jump to F1’s most iconic team, hinting that he has turned a corner in terms of his development.
“Well, you know, I’m in F1 and you have to back yourself,” Bearman told media including Motorsport Week.
“So yes, I believe I’m ready, but I have to continue to prove that.
“It’s not that I had five or six good races that suddenly everything changes.
“But I think it’s also easy to forget that in the middle of the season, I had a run of four or five 11th places in a row. So that was also consistent — just not quite good enough.
“And we’ve gained a bit of car performance since then. So that 11th place turns into a 10th, a ninth, an eighth, and that’s better received by everyone.
“So yeah, I’ve definitely improved, particularly since the summer break. I found a really good rhythm and momentum, and of course, I would say that I’m ready.”
