Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa has received unfortunate news regarding their team driver, Juan Cruz Yacopini, following reports that he was involved in a serious accident while spending time with friends in his home province of Mendoza, Argentina, and is currently receiving medical care.

While details remain limited, and are based on what has been publicly reported, the situation is clearly a difficult one. In light of these circumstances, Juan Cruz Yacopini will not take part in the 2026 Dakar Rally.

The motorsport fraternity’s thoughts are with Juan Cruz, his family, and those close to him and wish them strength and courage during this challenging period.

TGRSA will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further communication should appropriate and confirmed information become available.
