Rookie Ai Ogura topped his first-ever MotoGP session as he set the pace in the final practice session at Valencia.
Ogura set his best lap time of 1:29.897s just as the chequered flag was thrown out to head to the top of the timesheets despite being on used soft tyres.
Ducati was buoyed by Marc Marquez’s trackside return, with the Spanish rider able to provide feedback ahead of the Valencia test which he will not participate in.
Francesco Bagnaia returned to form as the session came to a close, leading the medium tyre runners in second, 0.099s off Ogura’s time.
Marco Bezzecchi completed a strong run for Aprilia in third, while Franco Morbidelli continued his momentum in fourth.
Pedro Acosta crashed at Turn 4 in the late stages of practice, but still managed to complete the top five.
The Gresini riders earned sixth and eighth respectively, with Alex Marquez leading team-mate Fermin Aldeguer, while Fabio Quartararo was sandwiched between the pair in seventh.
Honda wildcard Aleix Espargaro took the flag in ninth as Raul Fernandez completed the top 10.
Jorge Martin was 11th, with his time narrowly clear of Joan Mir in 12th, Jack Miller in 13th and Fabio Di Giannantonio in 14th.
Enea Bastianini led the Tech3 KTM charge in final practice, taking 15th ahead of team-mate Maverick Vinales.
Johann Zarco was 18th over the line, with Nicolo Bulega finishing the session in 19th. Yamaha wildcard Augusto Fernandez took 19th over a struggling Luca Marini in 20th.
Miguel Oliveira ended his final MotoGP practice session in 21st over former KTM team-mate Brad Binder in 22nd.
Alex Rins ended his session in 23rd, while Somkiat Chantra rounded out the standings in 24th.
