Rookie Ai Ogura topped his first-ever MotoGP session as he set the pace in the final practice session at Valencia.

Ogura set his best lap time of 1:29.897s just as the chequered flag was thrown out to head to the top of the timesheets despite being on used soft tyres.

Ducati was buoyed by Marc Marquez’s trackside return, with the Spanish rider able to provide feedback ahead of the Valencia test which he will not participate in.

Francesco Bagnaia returned to form as the session came to a close, leading the medium tyre runners in second, 0.099s off Ogura’s time.
