Christian Horner has reportedly held talks with Ferrari regarding a sensational role with the team, weeks after finalising his exit from Formula 1 rivals Red Bull.
The 51-year-old cut all ties from the Milton Keynes-based squad last month, opting to take less severance pay in order to be allowed to make a swift return to the sport.
Since then, the rumour mill has been in overdrive regarding Horner’s potential whereabouts, with mooted links to Alpine and Haas the most talked-about.
Haas’ Ayao Komatsu confirmed Horner had held discussions with the team, while Aston Martin boss Andy Cowell claimed he had been “ringing up pretty much every team owner.
Horner had been the subject of sporadic but longstanding speculation about being a target for Ferrari, but publicly maintained his loyalty to Red Bull.
And despite current Team Principal Fred Vasseur recently extending his current contract with Ferrari, it now appears that Horner could be making that switch after all.

After stories pointed towards Horner and Ferrari having held talks, the Daily Mail has reported that sources have indicated that Horner has spoken with the team.
This comes days after it was revealed that Ferrari had seen a drop in share prices on the stock market, with CEO Benedetto Vigna vowing to ensure the team returns to winning ways.
Vasseur had been at the centre of Italian media speculation about his future earlier in the summer.
However, after public backing from drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, the Frenchman’s position seemed secure upon the announcement of his extension.
But Horner’s presence now places that under extreme uncertainty.
And with the Briton’s track record of titles during his 20-year reign at Red Bull, Vigna and the Ferrari hierarchy may now see him as the best ‘win now’ option from 2026.
