Formula 1 is teaming up with comedian and Chicken Shop Date creator Amelia Dimoldenberg for a new four-part series titled ‘Passenger Princess’.
The series, which will air on YouTube, will see Dimoldenberg learn to drive under the guidance of some of the sport’s top drivers.
The show, produced in collaboration with Dimoldenberg’s own production company, Dimz Inc., blends her trademark humour with the high-octane F1 world.
Across the series, George Russell, Oscar Piastri, Oliver Bearman, and Carlos Sainz will take on the role of instructors as Dimoldenberg attempts to earn her driving licence.
Filmed at the Belgian Grand Prix, Passenger Princess marks F1’s latest move to expand its original content offering and engage younger audiences beyond traditional race weekends.
The sport boasts a global fan base of over 820 million, comprising 43 per cent of fans under the age of 35 and 42 per cent female – a notable increase since 2018.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, described the project as “the latest partnership from Formula 1 to engage with its rapidly growing demographic of young fans.”
She added: “Passenger Princess will combine Amelia’s wit and charm with the drama and excitement of Formula 1 at one of the sport’s most iconic circuits. We can’t wait for fans to see it.”
Ian Holmes, Chief Media Rights and Broadcasting Officer of Formula 1, addressed that the collaboration was a natural fit.
“Amelia has one of the most distinctive and entertaining voices in culture today… This original series is another way for F1 to entice a new audience into the exciting world of racing.”
Dimoldenberg, whose Chicken Shop Date series has amassed millions of followers, said she was thrilled to take part despite her lack of driving experience.
“My dream has always been to tell stories and work with great collaborators, so I’m proud to be working with such an iconic and recognised brand as F1 on this latest original series. Although I don’t know how to drive. I’m excited to put my well-established passenger – and interviewing – skills to good use.”
The series will premiere on Dimoldenberg’s YouTube channel, with further details and episode previews expected to be released ahead of launch.
