Lewis Hamilton outlined the areas in which Ferrari still need to improve, after the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix proved to be another disappointment.

The Scuderia went into the weekend with confidence after some positives for Hamilton, who produced a strong performance in Monza to finish sixth, having started 10th.

And free practice provided a further boost, with Hamilton going quickest in FP2, with team-mate Charles Leclerc in second.

But then Hamilton suffered another frustrating Q2 exit, with Leclerc then crashing early in Q3 to condemn him to a 10th-place start.

Hamilton did manage another recovery drive by taking eighth place, with Leclerc just behind, amid a team orders error in which the positions were meant to be swapped.

It meant the Italian marque once again failed to fulfil the promise the early part of the weekend had provided in the race.

After the race, the seven-time World Champion explained where the SF-25 is still holding him back in terms of regaining his aggression when it comes to overtaking.

“I think there’s still some improvements to make in terms of how aggressive I can be,” Hamilton explained.

“The car has been quite snappy, so still not 100% confident under braking when I’m attacking on the brakes.

“In the last race, I was, but in this race, didn’t feel it so much with the setup that we ended up having.

“It’s kind of crazy, because we’ve been progressing yet we’ve not had results, really in the last few races.

“But there’s not like no progress so I think we’re able to do a good weekend and a good result.”

Hamilton now sits sixth in the Drivers’ Championship on 121 points, 44 points behind Leclerc.
