McLaren has announced engine oil giant Motul as an Official Supplier to its Formula 1 team from the 2026 season onwards.
The Woking-based squad has added the French brand as its provider of what it calls “high-performance lubricants”.
Motul already has a large portfolio of its own, having been established in 1853 and gained a reputation as one of the top companies in its respective field.
It is a new brand added to an ever-growing list of partners and suppliers for the McLaren F1 outfit, having recently confirmed banking giants Mastercard as its title sponsor.
In a statement, Nick Martin, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Motul to the McLaren Formula 1 Team.
“Motul has a proud history of innovation and technical excellence, attributes that closely mirror our own legacy. We look forward to working together in this exciting partnership.”
Andreea Culcea, the Chief Brand and Communications Officer for Motul, added: “This partnership with McLaren marks Motul’s return to Formula 1, a discipline where we have written some of the most exhilarating moments of our history.
“This is a great opportunity to combine both of our expertise in the pursuit of performance and innovation.
“We are particularly proud that our fluids contribute to the outstanding performance of one of the most prestigious racing teams in the world.”
McLaren arrives in Baku for this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix able to wrap up the Constructors’ Championship, holding a huge lead over Ferrari in second place.
