F1 returns from the summer break with the opening practice session for the Dutch GP

Lando Norris went fastest in the opening practice session at the 2025 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix ahead of McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri for another 1-2 finish.

The Woking-based squad picked up from where it left off after the summer break by dominating FP1 at Zandvoort. Norris topped the timesheets with a lap of 1:10.278s, edging out Piastri in second and Lance Stroll in third.

Fernando Alonso secured fourth in the other Aston Martin, while Alex Albon claimed fifth for Williams ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in sixth.

George Russell finished seventh for Mercedes, followed by Carlos Sainz in eighth for Williams and Gabriel Bortoleto in ninth for Sauber. Pierre Gasly rounded out the top ten for Alpine in FP1.
