The NTT IndyCar Series will feature in a new branded video game title, which is set to be released next year on consoles and PC.

iRacing Studios will develop the game, which likely take many aspects from its popular racing simulation title iRacing.

IndyCar has been without an officially licensed video game title since 2004, when Codemasters produced a title that released on PS2 and the original Xbox.

This new deal with iRacing is a long-term licensing agreement, and will give fans a long-awaited way to interact with the series.

“IndyCar fans have long been clamoring for a standalone title for consoles, and we’re excited to give them what they’re looking for in 2026,” said Tony Gardner, president, iRacing Motorsport Simulations.

“iRacing Studios’ standalone IndyCar title will offer all the excitement of the NTT IndyCar Series and an immersive experience that fans of all ages can enjoy. We are already very excited about how the game is coming together.”

IndyCar worked with Motorsport Games a few years ago to produce a standalone title that was to be released in 2023.

Development of the game stalled with only a few early screenshots released, and eventually the project was cancelled.

This new project will use iRacing’s existing product as a base point, an solid platform that already features IndyCar and will soon feature IndyNXT among its many car options.

The project is also being supported by Scott McLaughlin, who will bring a driver’s perspective to the project.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the development process for iRacing Studios’ new IndyCar title,” McLaughlin said.

“It’s an honor to work with a team that has developed such amazing products to help deliver IndyCar’s first dedicated title in quite some time.

“It’s already an exciting time to be an IndyCar fan for so many reasons, and this game will take the fans’ at-home driving experience to the next level!”

The new title is expected to be released in the second half of 2026.
