Red Bull is one of just three Formula 1 teams to bring upgrades for its cars to this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Milton Keynes-based squad, along with its sister outfit Racing Bulls and Aston Martin, have brought revisions for their existing packages to the Hungaroring.

It has opted for a longer chord flap for the RB21, to improve local load performance on the tight and twisty circuit.

Red Bull has also added an enlarged and re-profiled scoop intake and exit duct, which the FIA’s notes describe will “offer more intake and exit areas to the wheel bodywork for increased brake cooling,” adding “the scoop can be larger than previous versions and the exit re-profiled to match the inlet.”

Satellite squad Racing Bulls has opted for modified components on its front brake drum, in the hope it will improve the flow of air to the rear of the car.

The VCARB 02 has also been fitted with new louvre panels – slots positioned on the side of the car to encourage cooling of the engine – which are bigger, given the high demands the power unit will suffer over the weekend.

Aston Martin’s one and only alteration comes in the form of its front wing flap, which is described in the notes as “more aggressive,” supposedly to increase “the total amount of load the wing can generate to be used with the higher downforce rear wing that will be used at this event.”

All the big hitters such as title-leaders McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes have all opted to keep their powder dry for the event, which is the last before F1’s summer break.
