Pirelli has nominated its tyre compounds for the remaining Formula 1 races of 2025, with some changes compared to its choices from last year.
The Italian manufacturer has opted to go a step softer for the first race after the summer break: the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
This year, it will go with C2 as the Hard compound, with C3 as the Medium and C4 as the Soft, compared to Cs 1, 2 and 3 used in 2024’s outing.
Pirelli’s new tyre for this year, the C6, will be available at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, along with Cs 4 and 5 as the Hard and Medium options.
The United States, Mexican and Brazilian Grands Prix will instead go in the other direction, as harder compounds will be the options available.
Starting at Austin, C3 and C4 will remain as the Medium and Soft compounds, with C1 being the Hard, missing a tyre in the range like Belgium.
The week after in Mexico City, the same Medium and Soft options will be on offer, with just one step down to C2 as the Hard choice.

After last year’s apparent error of putting the C5 on offer in Brazil, the 2025 options will be the same as 2023, with teams having C2, C3 and C4 available respectively.
Mario Isola, Pirelli’s Director of Motorsport, said: “We decided to announce the compound choices for all remaining races in order to allow teams to prepare as well as possible for all the coming rounds.
“There are some changes, made in consultation with the FIA and the championship promoter and they are based on an analysis of the data gathered and the simulation work.
“The choices are always made with the aim of balancing out the validity of the one or two-stop strategy, to increase excitement and deliver a better show.
“There is no single solution to achieving this, but without looking at the reality of the racing situation you can’t expect concrete answers.”
The other races will all maintain the status quo, with the same compounds used last year.
The C3, C4 and C5 will be the choices at the Italian, Singapore, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix, with the Qatar Grand Prix once again having C1, C2 and C3.
