Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc went quickest in final practice before qualifying for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The Monegasque went quickest with a 1:25.498s, just 0.068s ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in second.
Max Verstappen was third, a further two hundredths back with home favourite Lando Norris fourth.
Yuki Tsunoda may well be buoyed by a fifth place classification, albeit five tenths off his team-mate’s time.
More British interest was furthered by Oliver Bearman, Alex Albon and George Russell, who finished sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
Isack Hadjar was ninth, closely followed by his team-mate Liam Lawson in 10th. Lewis Hamilton was 11th, but would have been set for top spot had it not been for a late red flag which forced him to abort the lap.
Bearman’s impressive showing was ruined by spinning in the pit lane entry and planting his Haas nose-first into the barrier, which caused the red flag.
Carlos Sainz once again failed to make it out of the bottom half, finishing 11th, with Bearman’s team-mate Esteban Ocon 13th in the sister Haas.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli was 14th, with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto following close behind in their Saubers.
The bottom four of the order was occupied by both Aston Martins and Alpines respectively, with Fernando Alonso leading Franco Colapinto, Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly.
Running recommenced with just a few minutes remaining, but Bortoleto, looking to improve his time, spun at Becketts, bouncing over the kerbs and damaging the front-left suspension.
The Sauber, beached in the gravel, caused the session to end a tad early, ensuring work for both Sauber and Haas mechanics prior to qualifying.
