McLaren has unveiled a “Riviera-inspired’ livery enhancement that it will use for both the Formula 1 Monaco and Spanish Grands Prix.
In partnership with the Woking-based squad’s Official Primary Partner OKX, the tweak on its current and classic papaya colour scheme is a nod to the M7A car.
Entered by McLaren between 1968 and 1971, the car was driven by its famous Kiwi driving partnership of Denny Hulme and Bruce McLaren himself.
The car, with McLaren at the wheel, took the team’s first F1 win at the Belgian Grand Prix, with Hulme going agonisingly close to retaining his Drivers’ Championship, losing out at the final round.
In addition, both its current drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, will be sporting what McLaren describes as “A New Alternative” overall, a predominantly white design.
McLaren will be hoping to bounce back from an uncharacteristically lacklustre performance at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, with Norris and Piastri coming in second third behind a dominant Max Verstappen.
