The 2026 IMSA SportsCar Championship calendar will see Road America switch from a sprint event to a six-hour Endurance Cup race.

IMSA has announced the 2026 SportsCar Championship calendar with one key change in comparison to the 2025 schedule.

The Sportscar Weekend at Road America will switch from a 2-hour and 40-minute race to a six-hour event, as the Battle on the Bricks returns to a 2-hour and 40-minute sprint – like it was in 2023.

All 11 venues on the outgoing calendar will remain into 2026.

IMSA President John Doonan said: “The collaboration between IMSA and our event and promoter partners has allowed us to reveal our 2026 calendar at such an early date for a second consecutive season.

“This collective spirit will help our paddock and fans in preparation for next season, even as we have the majority of the 2025 season still to run.”

The Roar Before the 24 pre-event test on 16-18 January will precede the 64th running of the 24 Hours of Daytona opener on 24-25 January.

Secondly, the 12 Hours of Sebring will follow on 21 March before solely GTP and GTD classes will sprint at Long Beach on 18 April, then at Laguna Seca on 3 May.

Then GTP and GTD Pro teams will head to Detroit for a 1-hour and 40-minute sprint on 30 May, followed by the Six Hours of the (Watkins) Glen on 25 June and the CTMP round on 12 July.

Road America’s six-hour race commences on 2 August followed by the GT-only round at VIRginia International Raceway on 23 August.

All four classes will be reunited for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course sprint and the traditional 10-hour Petit Le Mans finale on 3 October 2026.
