Ferrari is set to go for an “intense shade of red” with its 2025 Formula 1 livery for Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Maranello.

2025 is an exciting year for Ferrari with the arrival of seven-time Drivers’ champion Hamilton to partner champion-in-waiting Charles Leclerc.

Expectations will surely be high in Maranello after the Scuderia narrowly missed out on the Constructors’ title in 2024 to McLaren.

The waiting world will get its first taste of Ferrari’s 2025 campaign at the F1 75 Launch at London’s O2 Arena on February 18.

Then, along with the nine other teams, Ferrari will unveil its 2025 colours for the world to see.

According to a report by AutoRacer, the livery designers at Maranello are aiming to go for an “intense shade of red” compared to last year’s SF-24.

Typically, Ferrari has a bright scarlet red design on its F1 cars but it hasn’t been shy about turning things a shade darker in the past.

Still, the 2025 livery won’t go as dark as the blood-red hue that adorned the Ferrari SF1000 at Mugello in 2020 for that year’s Tuscan Grand Prix, which marked the Italian team’s 1000th F1 race.

Instead, expect something akin to the 2022 F1-75 machine, which went a touch bolder with its iconic red than the cars that succeeded it.

Ferrari preparing for Hamilton’s debut season in red

Ahead of Ferrari’s livery launch in London, the Scuderia is doing all it can to help Hamilton settle in comfortably.

That includes TPC running at the team’s Fiorano test circuit this month and allegedly a four-day test at the Barcelona-based Spanish Grand Prix circuit.

Following the 2025 livery reveal in London, Ferrari’s official challenger for the upcoming F1 campaign will be unveiled in Maranello on February 19.

From there the team will embark on pre-season testing in Bahrain on February 26-28.

Such was the seismic shock of Hamilton’s Ferrari announcement ahead of the 2024 season, this year is being met with a sense of high anticipation.

Hamilton himself is relishing the opportunity writing: “I could not be more excited for the year ahead.

“Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on. To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change.

“Whether you’re switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful.

“Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025 – a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose.

“Let’s make it one to remember: Andiamo.”
