Haas has brought its main upgrade for the final leg of the 2024 Formula 1 season, kicking off proceedings at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix with a special one-off livery.

Self-dubbed as America’s F1 team, Haas will sport the red, white and blue of its nation’s flag, combined with an Eagle emblem.

Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen will also wear special race overalls with the eagle emblem and the Haas VF-24 also wear Toyota Gazoo Racing branding on the front and rear wings following the team’s technical alliance with the Japanese marque.

More important, however, is the development package that Haas will bring to Austin, which Technical Director Andrea De Zordo hopes will improve overall aerodynamic performance.

“In Austin we’re bringing our main update for the final part of the season which will mainly involve another step of development in the floor and bodywork,” De Zordo explained.

“The target, as always, will be to improve aero load in order to make the car faster.

“It’s difficult to be making a big step in lap time, so we’re speaking about small numbers, but in the tight midfield fight everything is an important step, and we hope to deliver.

“This is a development and further evolution of our package, not something new although the car will look a bit different.”

Haas F1 locked in a midfield battle with RB

Haas is locked in a midfield battle with RB and Williams to claim sixth in the Constructors’ standings.

As it stands, it is advantage RB, with the Faenza-based outfit enjoying a points haul of 34 after the first 18 rounds of the season.

Haas is hot on RB’s heels with 31 points and will hope to overcome the three-point deficit over the coming races.

Williams is an outside bet for sixth in the Constructors’ standings with 16 points and eighth in the table.

“We really need to put everything in we can to achieve [P6] because it would be amazing for everyone at this team who’s put so much work into making this season a success,” said De Zordo.
