Sebastien Bourdais heads Cadillac 1-2 at Road Atlanta in Petit Le Mans FP1

Cadillac’s Sebastien Bourdais went quickest in the first practice session for the IMSA Sportscar Championship season finale, Petit Le Mans, held at Road Atlanta.

The #01 Cadillac V-Series.R driver set a 1:11.013 around the undulating track, almost half a second than the sister Cadillac, run by Action Express, with Jack Aitken onboard the #31 Action Express car.

Mathieu Jaminet in the #6 Porsche 963 was next up, just over six tenths off Bourdais, while Philipp Eng was fourth in the #24 BMW M Hybrid V8. Fifth was Felipe Nasr in the sister #5 Porsche.

The session ran without red flags or any stoppages, with minor spins for Ben Keating and Dennis Andersen, at turn 7, very temporarily interrupting proceedings, before both got going again.

In LMP2, Felipe Fraga topped the timesheets in the #74 Riley Oreca 07-Gibson, with a 1:12.823 the class’s fastest lap. Keating’s car, the #2 United Autosports Oreca, was next up, with Ben Hanley at the wheel. The Brit was, though, 0.249 off Fraga.

Third was another Briton in the sister United Autosports machine, Paul di Resta in the #22 car, a further tenth and a half off Hanley.

Jordan Pepper, in the #19 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, was fastest in GTD Pro, setting a 1:19.048. Ross Gunn was second in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, just 0.059 off Pepper, while Alexander Sims, driving the #3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, was third, just 19 hundredths off Gunn.

In GTD, Ferrari factory driver Miguel Molina set a 1:19.128 to go quickest, fourth in the combined GTD Pro/GTD standings, in the #21 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3.

Loris Spineli was next up in the #78 Forte Racing Lamborghini, while Spencer Pumpelly was third in the #44 Magnus Racing Aston Martin.

FP2 takes place 3:20pm local time, 8:20pm UK time.
