Juncos Hollinger Racing has announced that one of its cars will carry an on-car dynamic sponsor display at this weekend’s IndyCar season finale.

The display sits along the inside edge of the protective Aeroscreen, and will be visible by the onboard camera that sits above the roll hoop behind the driver’s head.

The technology, which has been seen in Formula 1 adorning the sides of the McLaren F1 entries in the past couple years, is provided by Seamless Digital and allows for a rotation of sponsors to cycle across the display.

A small onboard battery powers the display itself, which is similar in nature to e-ink technology used in e-readers. Unlike consumer electronics, however, the displays are custom built to be durable and the overall solution is very lightweight so as not to impact performance of the cars.

“One of our team’s main priorities is to champion the things that other teams haven’t before, leading the charge to change the industry for the better,” said Ricardo Juncos, Co-Owner of Juncos Hollinger Racing.

“The technology and opportunities Seamless Digital provides to our sponsors and partners will allow our team to grow beyond what has been possible before.”

JHR will fit the dynamic displays on just one of its two cars for this weekend’s finale at Nashville Superspeedway, with Romain Grosjean’s #77 entry sporting the new technology.

The team tested the product on its cars during previous on track running this season, but the upcoming weekend will be the technology’s first use during an official IndyCar event.

Sponsor locations inside the Aeroscreen are highly sought because of the clear visibility of the space during television broadcasts.

Having the ability to rotate between multiple sponsors on the same space could lead to more lucrative sponsorship deals for teams.

Fans will be able to see the new technology in use on the #77 during the upcoming Music City Grand Prix, with Sunday’s main event set to begin at 2:00 central time on September 15.
