Red Bull’s Advanced Technologies division unveiled its eagerly anticipated RB17 hypercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday, the final Milton-Keynes product from legendary designer Adrian Newey.

Newey and Red Bull Advanced Technologies have drawn on two decades of title-winning Formula 1 excellence to produce a mouth-watering machine. Equal parts beautiful as it is staggering, the RB17 is a technological marvel boasting some incredible stats.

A two-seater carbon fibre monocoque chassis is home to a monstrous V10, naturally aspirated engine. The mid-mounted semi-stressed power unit harks back to the screaming Formula 1 cars of the early 2000s and red lines at 15,000 rpm.

A carbon fibre gearbox transfers more than 1200 BHP to the rear wheels and given the RB17 weighs just 900 kg, speeds of over 350 kph are expected.

The RB17 is a bespoke design wrought by the minds and engineers at Red Bull, a totally original creation, with only 50 examples to be sold to lucky customers.

The lucky 50 owners will be invited to track days at iconic circuits to enjoy the new RB17 with driver tutoring to help them get to grips with the Red Bull hypercar.

Each one of the 50 RB17s will be bespoke to fit their owner’s taste, making each example truly unique in the automotive world.

The RB17 is essentially Newey’s Red Bull sign-off as the legendary Formula 1 designer is leaving the team at the end of the first quarter of 2025.

”I had been mulling around the idea to take on the challenge to design our very own Hypercar, from concept to delivery, for many years and it has been a magnificent project and journey,” said Newey.

“For it to finally be the day we pull the covers off and see the birth of the RB17, is truly remarkable.

“The RB17 Hypercar embraces everything we stand for: undeniable power, speed and beauty. It is very adaptable in its abilities, and we made sure to design it as a two-seater so that the thrill of driving at F1 speeds can be enjoyed with a friend or partner.”

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner added: “We are excited to reveal the RB17 at Goodwood Festival of Speed, a project that is one of the most authentic and exciting that Red Bull Advanced Technologies has embarked upon to date.

“With 20 years of legacy in the world of F1 to draw from, and as a performance-centred organisation, it only made sense for us to design our own Hypercar from the ground up.

“Combining technical innovation, achievement and emotional appeal, the RB17 is a landmark car.

“I’m very proud of the Team and am delighted to see it make its world debut. We expect the RB17 to be a future classic.”

“The RB17 is an amazing project that we are privileged to work on, and has allowed Red Bull Advanced Technologies to showcase our engineering, design, and technical capabilities and solutions,” said Red Bull Advanced Technologies Technical Director Rob Gray.

“We cannot wait to see the finished cars being enjoyed to the full on a racetrack by racing and automotive enthusaists alike.”
