Fermín Aldeguer will make the step up to MotoGP in 2025, having agreed a two-year deal with Ducati with an option to extend for a further two years.

Ducati has not disclosed which team Aldeguer will join, but following weeks of persistent rumours over his future, it is believed to be with Pramac.

Aldeguer is one of the paddock’s hottest properties right now after a sensational end to last season in Moto2, where he won the last four races to seal third place in the championship.

During the winter period he was linked with a move to MotoGP for this season, but chose to see out his contract with Speed Up which expires at the end of this year.

“I wish to warmly welcome Fermin into the Ducati family and we can’t wait to see him already on the Desmosedici GP,” Ducati General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna said.

“I am very happy about this agreement because Aldeguer is one of the strongest riders of the new generation of the World Championship.

“In the last years, we have followed his evolution and during last season he showed an incredible speed.

The 18-year-old will be able to ride with freedom for the rest of the season knowing he has secured a seat for 2025 that will elevate him to the top flight of competition.
