Cadillac’s Derani quickest in third Daytona Roar practice

Pipo Derani was fastest in the third practice session for the Roar Before the 24, the Daytona 24 Hours qualifying session, with the Brazilian setting a 1:35.372 onboard the #31 Action Express Cadillac V-Series.R.

Richard Westbrook was second, and the fastest Porsche, in the #85 JDC Miller Porsche 963, just 0.026 off Derani.

BMW Team RLL’s Connor de Phillippi was third in the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8, while Scott Dixon was fourth quickest in the sister #01 Cadillac.

Filipe Albuquerque filled out the top 5, meaning there were five manufacturers in the top 5 positions, with the Portuguese over half a second slower than Derani, in the #10 Wayne Taylor Andretti Acura ARX-06.

In LMP2, Nicklas Nielsen was fastest in the #88 Richard Mille AF Corse Oreca 07-Gibson. The Dane set a 1:38.576, less than a tenth faster than Charles Milesi, at the wheel of the #11 TDS Oreca. #04 Crowdstrike Racing by APR’s Malthe Jakobsen was third, just under a further tenth off Milesi.

Tommy Milner was fastest in GTD Pro, lapping the track in 1:45.844. Second in GTD Pro — and fifth in the combined GT classes — was Harry Tincknell in the #64 Ford Mustan GT3, while Michael Christensen was third, aboard the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3.R.

And finally, in GTD, Kyle Marcelli was quickest, behind the wheel of the #45 Wayne Taylor Andretti Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, with a 1:45.986. Second was Thomas Preining in the #43 Andretti Porsche 911 GT3.R, while Julien Andlauer was third in the #92 Kellymoss with Riley Porsche.
