The start times for the 2024 Formula 1 season have been revealed, with the Las Vegas Grand Prix retaining the same 10 pm slot despite rising complaints last year.

F1’s upcoming campaign will comprise a record-breaking 24 rounds, an increase of two from last season following the absence of the races in China and at Imola.

The Shanghai International Circuit hasn’t hosted an F1 event since 2019 amid the Covid-19 pandemic, while the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was cancelled due to flooding.

However, both have been included on the roster this time around. China will be held as the fifth round of the World Championship, a fortnight after the Japanese Grand Prix.

Regarding the 22 rounds that existed last season, the schedule has remained unchanged except for the Miami Grand Prix being handed a 30-minute earlier start time.

The timings for the six Sprint races on the 2024 roster have not yet been confirmed, while the practice and qualifying sessions for Las Vegas are awaiting confirmation.

Las Vegas will form a triple header along with Qatar and Abu Dhabi to conclude the 2024 campaign, which sparked criticism from several drivers and Team Principals

Mercedes Technical Director James Allison revealed that a dialogue has begun between F1 and the sport’s governing body, the FIA, to introduce a race cap for personnel.

F1 returned to Las Vegas for the first time in 41 years last November, but the event got off to a torrid start when the first practice session had to be abandoned.

Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari SF-23 sustained extensive damage when he ran over a loose water valve cover, with the delay resulting in FP2 not being completed until 4 am.
