With the final exciting F1 race of the 2023 season complete and the full grid line-up for 2024 confirmed, now is a great time for fans of this sport to start looking ahead and get ready for an exciting new betting season. While the start of the new season may be an agonizingly long wait for the most dedicated fans, this break between seasons offers plenty of time for experienced bettors to start speculating which of the top drivers have the best chance of taking home the win for their team in the new year.

A look back at the 2023 season stars

Before the 2024 season offers a fresh start and fresh betting opportunities with exciting new bet365 bonus code offerings, it’s worthwhile to take a moment now to reflect on this season’s top drivers during the winter break. All the excitement that occurred during this most recent season offers valuable insights surrounding how individuals should place their bets in the year ahead.

While many of the biggest names managed to race their way to a few podium places throughout the year, fan favourite Dutch driver Max Verstappen once again dominated the leader boards. In fact, this season he extended his record considerably as he took home his 19th season win for his team at the final grand prix in Abu Dhabi.

Other notable names include Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz who was the only non-Red Bull grand prix winner, previous champion Lewis Hamilton and 26 year old Charles Leclerc, Sainz’s teammate. These exceptional drivers, along with a handful of incredibly talented youngsters such as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will be the ones to watch throughout the upcoming season as they have everything to play for.

What the completed 2024 Grid line-up means for bettors

Now that Logan Sargeant has had his Williams contract renewed for the new season, the 2024 grid line-up is complete. While the grid itself is devoid of any rookies to watch, this lack of significant change provides seasoned fans and bettors with a solid foundation of information they can make use of to place well-informed wagers.

The stability and lack of significant changes in the confirmed line-up may be disappointing for fans looking for more excitement in a well-oiled F1 environment. From here, it’s easy to assume that next season will likely play out in much the same way that this one did.

During times like this, it’s good to remember that anything can happen during an individual race weekend and many of the newer younger drivers have every opportunity to capitalise on the mistakes of aging race leaders.

Predicting the frontrunners: Factors to consider…

Aside from placing Verstappen in the top spot as a safe bet, there are many factors that could significantly affect the final leader boards for the 2024 season. The most important ones will be difficult to see coming in the months leading up to every race weekend as they relate to individual track and weather conditions.

Wet conditions increases the likelihood of crashes and safety cars, and these factors usually cause significant shifts in line-ups and finishes.

It will be worthwhile to use this time between seasons to follow news regarding pre-season testing results. Information gained from individual team and car performance during the testing season will express which teams are most likely to be competitive and successful in next year.

While keeping up with this news, pay close attention to the reliability of the new 2024 cars and their lap times too.

Closing thoughts

There’s no doubt that fans and dedicated enthusiasts will be saving up to purchase tickets for their favourite events and eagerly awaiting the first race weekend in the 2024 season which will take place in Bahrain on the 29th of February. This upcoming season promises many entertaining opportunities to bet on top contenders and the younger underdogs.
