Formula E announced on Wednesday morning that sports and entertainment production company, Whisper, will produce English-language coverage of the all-electric series going forwards.

Whisper will be responsible for producing the English-language pre and post-race shows as well as live action during the races, whilst they’re also set to completely revamp how an E-Prix is covered.

Going forwards, the pre-race show has been extended to a full hour to allow for more features, analysis and insights into the championship than ever before. As well as that, a new access all-areas show will be produced and aired the night before free practice 1 gets underway, in a magazine-style format.

Whisper will also be responsible for providing enhanced coverage of the other free practice sessions and the duels. Aurora Media Worldwide will still be responsible for the host broadcast, whilst Gravity Media will continue to provide production facilities.

Aarti Dabas, Formula E Chief Media Officer is “excited” to start working with Whisper in the new partnership, given that the company already have “proven credentials” based on their previous sporting content.

“We are excited to work with Whisper who will bring to Formula E their impressive, proven credentials for creating compelling sports and entertainment broadcast content,” Dabas said.

“Formula E is the most competitive motorsport world championship with unrivalled racing action, big personalities in the paddock, and genuine storylines that will capture the imagination of new and current audiences.”

For season 10, a new presenting line-up will be introduced; however, several familiar faces will remain.

Nicki Shields, Karun Chandhok, Dario Franchitti, Radzi Chinyanganya and Allan McNish will all still be part of the presenting team next season, whilst a new lead presenter is yet to be confirmed. Ex-footballer Jermaine Jenas is reportedly in the running for the role, according to The Race.

Whilst a new lead presenter is yet to be announced, a new lead commentator has been. Tom Brooks, who filled in at Rome and London last season, has been given the gig on a permanent basis.

Whilst a UK broadcaster is also yet to be confirmed, things are certainly looking positive for the English-language coverage.

“Our intention for the Formula E coverage is to deliver ‘Entertainment Electrified’,” said Sunil Patel, Whisper CEO & Co-Founder.

“We have an exciting and updated talent line up, as well as ambitious coverage plans, as we seek to redefine the coverage with the inspiring Formula E team. This project will draw on our creative storytelling skills and our absolute passion for motorsport.”
