Lewis Hamilton endured a difficult start to the 2023 season with his outings in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, but Australia marked a notable turnaround.

The seven-time World Champion ended the race in second place, marking his first podium result of the year.

It also brought Mercedes its first top-three finish of 2023 after it started the campaign on the back foot.

With his podium, Hamilton extended two notable records – his achievement for the most podiums of all time as the most consecutive years with a top-three finish.

Hamilton now has 192 podiums to his name, 37 more than Michael Schumacher who occupies second on the all-time list.

Hamilton briefly led the race in Melbourne

A testament to Hamilton’s long success in F1 is the fact he has scored a podium finish in every season he has competed in.

Hamilton was also known for the statistic of having a race win in every season he has taken part in, but his streak came to an end when he failed to secure a grand prix win in 2022.

However, his year-to-year podium run is still active and stretches back to his maiden season in F1 in 2007.

See the top 10 list below.
