Blomqvist quickest in second practice for IMSA Sebring 12 Hours

Acura’s Tom Blomqvist set the pace in the second practice session for the IMSA WeatherTech Sportswear Championship’s 12 Hours of Sebring, with a 1:47.049.

However, #02 Cadillac V.Series.R’s Sebastien Bourdais was hot on the tale of the #60 Meyer Shank Acura ARX-06 driver, with Bourdais just 0.026 off the Briton.

In third was session 1 topper Filipe Albuquerque in the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-06, a tenth and a half off his Acura stablemate.

In the LMP2 class, Christian Rasmussen topped the session for the second time running in the #18 Era Motorsport Oreca 07-Gibson, setting a 1:50.506.

Second was Noah Siegel in the #04 Crowdstrike Racing by APR Oreca 07-Gibson, but he was over seven tenths off Rasmussen.

Third was Paul-Loup Chatin, the Frenchman behind the wheel of the #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsport Oreca 07-Gibson, a further six tenths off Siegel.

In LMP3, Dakota Dickerson topped the times for #30 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320, with a 1:56.382. Second was Josh Burden in the #74 Riley Ligier JS P320, while in third was the first of the Duqueines, Nico Varrone driving the #17 AWA Duquesne D08.

GTD cars took the first two spots in the GT classes, with Russell Ward the quickest in the #57 Winward Racing Mercerdes-AMG GT3, with a 2:01.218. A few hundredths off Ward was Sebastian Priaulx, at the wheel of the #80 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R. 

The first GTD Pro car was third overall in GT, with Tommy Milner setting a 2:01.260 in the #3 Corvette C8.R. Ross Gunn was next, fourth overall in GT, in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, just over 0.050 off Milner.

Aaron Telitz was third in GTD in the #12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, while Davide Rigon was third in GTD and sixth in both classes in the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3.
