Logan Sargeant has completed his seat fit at the Williams Formula 1 team ahead of his debut in the series next year.

Although Sargeant has driven for Williams this year at numerous practice sessions as well as the post-season test from Abu Dhabi, the updated car for 2023 requires a new seat fit to be carried out.

Sargeant admitted that it wasn’t the most straightforward procedure, as he was unhappy with the expanding foam that was poured in to mould the seat on the first occasion.

“We had to do a couple of pours to get it right, I wasn’t completely happy with the first one,” Sergeant said.

“But I think the second one went really well, I was super comfortable, all square and in the position I want to be.

“Now it’ll go off to get scanned and hopefully she fits good when I get out on track. I’m looking forward to getting out there.”

Sargeant has been part of the Williams Driver Academy for over a year, and sported the team’s colours during his maiden Formula 2 season with Carlin in 2022.

Towards the end of the year, Williams asserted that should Sargeant acquire enough Super Licence points, he would race for the team in 2023.

Sargeant ended the year fourth in the Drivers’ Championship, which was enough to secure his spot at the team for next season.

The 21-year-old will be the first American driver to race in F1 since Alexander Rossi in 2015.

Sargeant will partner Alexander Albon at Williams next year.
