Experienced Formula E racer Oliver Turvey has taken up a reserve driver and sporting advisor role at DS Penske.
Turvey spent seven seasons competing for the backmarker NIO 333 squad before departing at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Turvey, who has been a long-term test driver for McLaren in Formula 1, will now link up with DS Penske, which is fielding reigning champion Stoffel Vandoorne alongside two-time title-winner Jean-Eric Vergne in 2022/23.
“I am delighted to be joining DS Penske as Reserve Driver and Sporting Advisor,” said Turvey.
“It is a real privilege to join a championship-winning team and one of the most successful manufacturers in Formula E history.
“I am looking forward to working closely with both ‘Jev’, Stoffel, and the whole team, using my experience in the series to help them challenge for another championship at the beginning of the Gen3 era.”
Formula E pre-season testing is due to start in Valencia on Tuesday.
“Oliver not only brings incredible credentials to the team, but an acute racing intellect,” said team owner Jay Penske.
“He has all the qualities we were looking for with this role. He is experienced and has demonstrated his racecraft throughout the last seasons. We look forward to working with Oliver in Season 9 and beyond.”
