Brundle: Kravitz has my full support following Red Bull spat
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Ex-Formula 1 driver turned pundit Martin Brundle asserts that he fully supports Sky Sports colleague Ted Kravtiz amid a fallout with Red Bull.

Last weekend at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Red Bull installed a boycott of Sky Sports after being unhappy with comments that were made throughout the season by the British broadcaster regarding the 2021 title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

“This year, it’s been a constant… kind of like digging, being disrespectful, especially one particular person,” Verstappen explained. “You can’t live in the past, you just have to move on.”

The boycott is believed to have been accelerated by comments that Kravitz made during a segment in the USA, where he stated that Hamilton was “robbed” of last year’s championship.

Red Bull didn’t participate in any post-race interviews conducted by Sky Sports last Sunday in Mexico City in a protest against the broadcaster.

“We’re disappointed with a series of derogatory comments that have been made on Sky, so we felt this weekend we would take a break,” team boss Christian Horner commented.

Red Bull is set to recommence communications with Sky Sports at the Sao Palou Grand Prix next weekend.

Kravitz, who has worked at Sky Sports alongside Brundle for a number of years, has seen increased negative comments hit his social pages since last weekend.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday evening, Brundle asserted his support for Kravitz.

“For the avoidance of doubt my friend and colleague for the past 26 years Ted Kravtiz has my full support,” he said.

“Face-to-face dialogue is the only way to sort out issues and disputes in the relentless crucible of the F1 paddock. We all have opinions and different jobs to do, that’s life.”

Kravitz did nothing wrong. RB are just getting their undies in a bunch because they don’t like people telling them the Abu Dhabi finish was a robbery.

As far as I know Ted never said RB stole it, he was speaking in a general term.

Kravitz said that Hamilton was robbed, and since the thing of which he was supposedly robbed belongs to Verstappen, the implication he was making with that statement that Red Bull had stolen it was pretty heavily apparent. If I said my watch was stolen and you are wearing my watch, you’d take that as meaning I was accusing you of stealing my watch. There’s nothing general about it.

However, Hamilton was not robbed, he and his team threw away the race in Abu Dhabi, which Verstappen and Red Bull happily retrieved from the skip, polished up and have been proudly displaying ever since, leading to a regretful whinging from their opponents who had the opportunity to look after it themselves but spurned that chance, which just happened to serve justice upon them for what they had done earlier in the season at Silverstone and Hungaroring.
