Russell to start Singapore GP from pits after PU change

George Russell (GBR) Mercedes AMG F1. Singapore Grand Prix, Saturday 1st October 2022. Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore.

George Russell must start Formula 1’s Singapore Grand Prix from the pit lane after Mercedes fitted new power unit components to his W13.

Russell qualified in 11th position at Marina Bay amid brake struggled during the session.

Mercedes has fitted a fresh power unit to Russell’s car, with all components outside of his allocation, but this has been done outside of parc ferme regulations.

As a consequence Russell must start the race from the pit lane.
