F1 aims for ‘powerful and emotive’ power unit for 2025

With the 2021 Formula 1 season heading into its second half on the 29th August at Spa Francorchamps, fans will be starting plan their annual end of season trip to the UAE and the final race of the season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

While in this amazing desert country, fans will be bowled over by the hospitality of the Arabs, their eclectic architecture, the delightful hotels that guess at every whim of tourists, the excellent food, amazing warm water, and the cozy fluffy beaches. It’s all good, and that’s what most people dream about.

But what to do, either before or after the grand prix, can never be a challenger and as most of the fans who fly in for the race do it through Dubai, let’s start there.

Dubai is definitely somewhere for those whose blood boils and asks for adrenaline – active, sporty, and energetic? Without a doubt, the sprinters in life will have something to do in this 24/7 bustling cosmopolitan city. Whether a bird in the sky, or a fish under the water, or a rider on an exotic animal, or Robin Hood with arrows — you can satisfy your every extreme request. Let’s go on adventure…

Take off in a balloon

Floating above the desert…

Do you crave being above it all? Then a hot-air balloon is waiting for you. Choose your favorite color of the balloon and fly across the Arabian skies to admire the pristine landscape of the Arabian Peninsula. The panorama is especially good in the morning at sunrise or in the evening at sunset when the desert drops below the horizon and the dunes resemble the surface of the moon with their shimmering colors.

Tempting? Gather the company of 6-20 like-minded people (that’s how many seats a balloon holds) and go on air adventures! Usually, the balloon flight program consists of a balloon ride followed by a ride in off-road vehicles through the wild dunes of Dubai (after landing). On the way, you can stop by the local Bedouins who will hospitably treat you to fruit juices.

Such an entertainment you will remember for a lifetime, believe me. And the photo can be proudly posted on your page on the web. Ask hotels in Dubai, where is the nearest “parking” point of balloons, you will gladly be pointed in the right direction. In the meantime, prepare for having to get up early as such services are usually provided from 04h30 till 06h00, later is a bit hot for hot air ballooning.

For those with adrenaline to spare, you can rent a sports car and drive fast to the departure point. The balloon flight program and return to the starting point take about 5 hours. And it will be some of the best 5 hours of your life!

Skydiving

Freedom at last…

Got even more desire to see it all? Then go to Umm Al Quwain Country Club, located an hour away from the cosmopolitan city, and enjoy a minute of falling from a height of 4 km. The speed of your journey will be 150 mph. Still not scared? And rightly so, because there will be an instructor in tandem with you, who will make sure that you get only positive things out of the flight. The doors of the club are open every day from 09h00 to 17h30.

Polo on camels

Anyone for camel polo..?

Let’s move on to more exotic adventures now that combine both sport and entertainment, for example, a popular activity in Dubai as polo on camels. You do not need to have any skills. An instructor will show you what you can do, teach you the rules of this exotic game, outfit you properly and choose the right group for you since the game involves two teams of 4 to 40 people.

On the camel, by the way, you will be with a partner, because one person is supposed to control the movement of the animal, and the second to move the balls in the direction of your opponent with a stick. Perhaps you were a little scared of such responsibility. Don’t worry, each camel is watched by an observer guide, who will always come to the rescue in a difficult situation. You can play fascinating camel polo at both the Arabian Ranches Polo Club and the Desert Polo Club.

Go-Karting

Just you against the clock…

Love to saddle up the mechanical ‘beasts’ instead? Welcome to Dubai Motor Raceway with its amazing race tracks. The club has 1,200 meters of track for its guests, have fun. Kids from 7 years old are allowed, so come and race the race track with your family!
