Sebastian Vettel’s podium at Formula 1’s Hungarian Grand Prix has been placed in doubt after Aston Martin was unable to provide a sufficient fuel sample.
Vettel finished second to Alpine’s Esteban Ocon to claim his second podium since joining Aston Martin.
Vettel halted his AMR21 on the slow down lap before running to the podium ceremony.
Under Formula 1 regulations each team must supply a one litre sample of fuel post-race.
The FIA has outlined that it was able to only extract a fuel sample of 300ml from Vettel’s car.
Aston Martin is currently meeting with the stewards to discuss the matter.
