The crew chiefs were fined for loose or missing lug nuts after Sunday’s Buschy McBusch Race 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.
Matt McCall (#1 Chip Ganassi Racing/Kurt Busch), Luke Lambert (#17 Roush Fenway Racing/Chris Buescher) and Paul Wolfe (#22 Team Penske /Joey Logano) each were fined $10,000 for one loose or missing lug nut, discovered in post-race inspection.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series also contested a race, the Wise Pro 200, at Kansas last weekend. No penalties were issued to Truck Series competitors after that race.
NASCAR’s weekly penalty report following the Kansas Speedway race weekend also detailed the reinstatement of Jonathan Stewart. Stewart, listed as an engineer for GMS Racing in the Truck Series, had been indefinitely suspended for a violation of NASCAR’s substance abuse policy. He has successfully completed the sanctioning body’s Road to Recovery program.
