Guanyu Zhou converted pole position to take his first win of the FIA Formula 2 season in the Feature Race in Bahrain.
The Chinese driver worked his way back to the front after falling as far as sixth under a Safety Car period to get passed ahead of him to win.
Dan Ticktum finished second for Carlin despite contact with Alpine Academy pilot Oscar Piastri with three laps to go that saw the Australian stall and retire.
Red Bull Junior driver Liam Lawson completed the podium in third, with Richard Verschoor, Marcus Armstrong and Jehan Daruvala making up the top six.
Robert Shwartzman was seventh and getting the points for the fastest lap ahead of Theo Pourchaire, Felipe Drugovich and Matteo Nannini rounding out the points scorers.
After the first three races of the changed-weekend format for Formula 2 this year, Guanyu Zhou is the championship leader by 11 points over Liam Lawson in second.
The next round of F1’s feeder series is scheduled to be in Monte Carlo on the Monaco Grand Prix weekend of the 20-23 May.
